Our property alone offers several perfect spots: shady corners under tall chestnut trees, a sunny nook next to our shallow plunge pool, or a soft patch of grass with views stretching into the mountains. Each place has its own atmosphere, quiet, playful, or scenic, so you can choose the right setting for your picnic mood.
Beyond our gates, the region offers endless options. The Serra da Estrela is full of beautiful meadows, riverbanks, and forest clearings. Imagine settling down next to a gentle stream, or taking your picnic basket up to a viewpoint where you can watch the sun setting behind rugged peaks. River beaches and lakesides, such as Barragem do Caldeirão or Vale do Rossim, are also perfect picnic spots, combining refreshing swims with a relaxed outdoor meal.
To make it easy, we can prepare a pre-filled picnic basket for you. Think fresh local bread, the famous Serra da Estrela cheese from goat and sheep, fruit, juice or jams from our orchard, and other seasonal products sourced from the surrounding community. Depending on the season, we might include cherries, figs, apples, plums, or blackberries, picked straight from our food forest. All you need to do is grab the basket and head to your chosen spot.
For families, picnics are an ideal way to let children play freely in nature. While adults relax, kids can climb rocks, explore creeks, find colourful stones or watch butterflies flutter by.
