Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all offers, agreements, and services from Starbase18 lda. Any other terms only apply if Starbase18 lda confirms them in writing. Starbase18 lda is represented by employees Frank Kroondijk and Janneke Wittebol.

Reservations & Booking

You can reserve an apartment directly on our website www.starbase18.com, by email, or by phone. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. If you prefer to pay by bank transfer, please contact us.

You can also request to hold an apartment (if available) for up to two weeks, after approval from Starbase18 lda. We will confirm this hold by email.

Different minimum stays apply by season (low, high, and Christmas). Our booking system shows current availability and prices automatically.

Payment & Cancellation

• Payments are handled securely via Stripe, where you can pay by credit card, iDeal, or PayPal.
• We do not offer cancellation insurance. We recommend arranging your own insurance.
• To cancel, notify us by email or phone (during office hours).
• Cancellation fees:
  • Up to 2 months before arrival: 50% of the total price
  • Within 2 months before arrival: 100% of the price
  • Cancellation for bad weather: not possible
  • On arrival day or later, late arrival or early departure: 100%

Starbase18 lda may charge service fees or cancel your reservation and claim costs. All legal costs and interest will be recovered from the guest if needed.

Changes to Reservation

Up to 2 months before arrival, you can change your booking free of charge (e.g., arrival date). Request changes by email.

Prices

Prices are per apartment per night for up to 4 people (max. 2 adults & 2 children under 13). Rates include accommodation, breakfast, after check-out cleaning, electricity, water, taxes, and use of facilities. Starbase18 lda may adjust prices if taxes or charges change significantly.

Arrival & Departure

• Check-in: from 16:00
• Check-out: by 11:00
• Guest are responsible for keeping their apartment key safe and handing it in during check-out, in case of a lost key, the guest has to pay for a replacement lock and keys

Late check-out without agreement will be charged as an extra night. Please leave the apartment clean. Register on arrival at our space (1st floor), including for visitors or groups. Parking is signposted.

Behaviour & Safety

• No pets allowed. Stray chickens, cats, and two dogs live on-site (dogs are not roaming free).
• No open fire or barbecuing anywhere due to fire risk. Violation may lead to police fines.
• No loud music after 22:00 until 07:00, except during organized events by Starbase18 lda.
• We value the health of our guests and in particular the children, therefore smoking is forbidden at Starbase18 lda. If you want to smoke, you can visit the café just accros the street.

Privacy & Respect

• Starbase18 lda and guests are not allowed to photograph or share images of children's faces on social media or elsewhere without explicit permission from their parents or guardians.
• Personal data provided for reservations and communication is used only by Starbase18 lda and will not be shared with third parties, unless required by law.

Liability

Use of all facilities is at your own risk. Starbase18 lda is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, or injuries. Guests are liable for damage to property, inventory, or facilities during their stay. Starbase18 lda is not obliged to refund fees due to force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, fires, disease outbreaks).

Children must be supervised, especially near the plunge pool and fenced wells. There is no lifeguard supervision.

Facilities & Services

• Use of washing machine: ask our staff first.
• Sheets and towels changed for each new stay; for longer stays, you may request an extra change.
• Our water is natural spring water, safe to drink, use responsibly, especially in summer.
• Dispose of garbage in the bin behind the property when full.
• Free Wi-Fi is available around the house and terrace.

Final Note

Starbase18 lda may change these rules if needed. Staying at our property means you accept these terms and respect our estate, nature, and fellow guests.
